“I want to be a Doctor.”
So, this is my first post! I’m excited, let’s get into it. Do you want to be a doctor – great – why? I find that this is one question I am constantly asked. I get it, there are so many wondrous careers out there, why did I choose this path? It’s certainly not the easiest – matter of fact, its pretty hard. To be completely honest I do not have a perfect answer for this question because there isn’t one clear-cut answer to why. In fact, there are many reasons why – and I will divulge that information at a later date. What I will say is that if there was anything else out there for me. I would have pursued it. However, I chose something that I know will require a lot of work, dedication, long hours, few vacations, virtually no family time, etc. I chose this because despite all the “negatives” – in my eyes it’s all just positive. I want to make a difference in this world and change people’s lives for the better. Being able to help just one person makes all these sleepless nights worth it. Taking away pain and improving a quality of life makes having loans no big deal. My heart and my soul belong to medicine – and from the experiences that I’ve had so far. I know that this is the place for me – something I was made for. I’m ready to do anything and everything to make my dream come true because; its the only thing that feels right. So ladies and germs, if medicine does that for you, then forget everyone and everything and do what you need to do to get where you want to be. If you aren’t sure if this is the right field, then; volunteer, shadow, work in a hospital – get experience and then make your decision. Lastly, if medicine does not do that for you, then find what does – so you won’t have to work a day in your life. Find and do what you love. Always be true to yourself!
Till next time!
